The threat to the life of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico remains after the surgery, Markiza TV said, citing a source in the hospital, Report informs.
“The Prime Minister of Slovakia, after a complex surgery that lasted several hours, is still in a life-threatening condition,” the source said.
Fico was wounded in an assassination attempt after a government meeting in Gandlov, where a visiting meeting of the government was held. He was taken to the hospital, where the surgery lasted approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes. Doctors said Fico would be in a coma for 24 hours.
Due to the incident, the Slovak Parliament is strengthening security measures.
