Ecuadorian prisoners rioted in a prison located in the province of Guayas in the west of the country, Report informs referring to TASS.
Authorities were able to bring the situation under control, the National Integrated Surveillance Service for Persons Deprived of Liberty and Juvenile Offenders reported.
“Due to the incidents that occurred on March 27 at the men’s social rehabilitation center of Guayas No. 4, the armed forces, with the assistance of the National Police of Ecuador, have activated all security protocols to neutralize the situation,” reads the statement.
Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa said that control over the prison had been restored and thanked law enforcement agencies for resolving the situation.
