At the international exhibition ProWein2024, which takes place on March 10-12 in Düsseldorf, Germany, Moldovan winemakers presented the first Moldovan wine created with the help of artificial intelligence, the country's Ministry of Agriculture said, Report informs.

According to the ministry, more than 50 wineries in Moldova are taking part in the ProWein2024 exhibition.

"This year has become a historic one for winemaking in Moldova, with the release of the revolutionary Chelaris wine created with the help of artificial intelligence. Chelaris is a combination of the country's centuries-old winemaking heritage and advanced technologies," the ministry said.

At the Wine of Moldova stand in Düsseldorf, foreign visitors will be able to taste the first two wines produced by Chelaris, a virtual oenologist created by artificial intelligence.

The virtual oenologist Chelaris was tasked with creating a representative wine for our country, providing details and detailed protocols on the start date of the grape harvesting period, fermentation, filtration, bottling, storage and promotion based on all the data collected over the past five years from the ONVO pilot batches.

As a result, two blended wines were produced, consisting of Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala and Viorica for the white wine and Feteasca Neagra blend from 3 different experimental demonstration batches for the red wine. The wines are produced in a limited edition of 150 bottles and are due to be released at the ProWein winery.
