US Congresswoman issues statement on 25th anniversary of Black January

Baku. 28 January. REPORT.AZ/ Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Madeleine Bordallo has made a statement on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Black January tragedy, Report informs. 

The statement provides detailed information about the tragedy.
The Congresswoman said that on 20 January 1990, Soviet troops stormed Azerbaijan's capital of Baku and perpetrated a massacre in the city.
She said, however, this tragic event strengthened Azerbaijani peoples` struggle for independence and resulted in their declaring the independence of Azerbaijan.
