Baku. 17 July. REPORT.AZ/ Tokyo hosted the 6th meeting between Japan and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development -
Report informed referring to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, the meeting was attended by the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for GUAM Akira Muto, GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili, head of the Department of International Security Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Gaya Mammadov and others.
Both sides exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest, including water management, energy security and tourism as well as on cooperation in the international sphere.
The parties also noted the importance of GUAM-Japan cooperation aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the world. The sides also finalized the preparatory works for the "GUAM-Japan" cooperation program. In turn, representatives of the GUAM expressed their deep gratitude to the Japanese side for the excellent organization of the meeting and reaffirmed their strong intention to continue and strengthen "GUAM-Japan" dialogue and cooperation.
