Pashinyan says proximity to Azerbaijan should not disturb but inspire residents of Armenian villages

The goal of the Armenian authorities is to ensure that the proximity of Armenian villages to the territory of Azerbaijan does not disturb, but inspire their residents, in particular with the prospects for mutual trade, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with residents of the village of Kirants, Tavush region, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

“Our goal, our idea is for you to say: 'Azerbaijan is 50 meters away' not with alarm, but to say: 'It’s good that Azerbaijan is 50 meters away, we will engage in trade there, build a farm.' Or maybe a checkpoint will also be built through which cars will pass and pay for it to the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan noted.
