Kaori Ishikawa: Azerbaijan close to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 5

Azerbaijan is close to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5, UN Women Regional Coordinator Kaori Ishikawa said during a panel discussion within the framework of the fourth SDG dialogue in Baku, Report informs.

“It is gratifying that Azerbaijan is preparing to present the Voluntary National Review. You are one of the few countries in the world that is preparing this report. We look forward to further discussion of the results achieved. From my point of view, having analyzed data from various reviews, Azerbaijan is on the path to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 5 (gender equality),” she said.

According to her, Azerbaijan is among the countries that are striving to make progress in the field of women's economic empowerment.
