Jean-Christophe Bas: World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue gaining momentum

The World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue is gaining momentum, the founder of the Global Compas organization, Jean-Christophe Bas, said during the plenary session of the VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, Report informs.

“When we first met at this forum, it was a different format. Initially, it was a small group of activists who were interested in expanding cultural dialogue. And it is absolutely amazing to see how this event has now become a pioneer in the field of dialogue, peace and security,” said Jean-Christophe Bas.

He emphasized that given modern challenges, such events need to be held to solve global problems.

The World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, considered an integral part of the “Baku Process” on intercultural dialogue initiated by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008, was first organized in Baku in 2011, with subsequent forums taking place in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. Over the past period, the extent of the forum has expanded significantly, and the number of countries and organizations participating in the event has increased. In total, more than 10,000 delegates have taken part in the forum - government officials, leaders and representatives of international organizations and institutions. At the same time, more than 200 events of various formats and scales, plenary and panel discussions, and presentations have been organized within the framework of the forum.
