Manchester City's strikers have struggled with injuries this term as Wilfried Bony has impressed for Swansea and Manuel Pellegrini signed the Ivorian, who is currently representing his country at the Africa Cup of Nations, for €32.3 million.

Next was Andre Schurrle's return to the Bundesliga. Already struggling for game time at Chelsea, the Germany international was pushed further down the pecking order my Cuadrado's arrival and moved to Wolfsburg for €32 million.

The most expensive deal which did not involve a Premier League club came in La Liga, where Valencia parted with €25 million to strengthen with the acquisition of Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez.
