Azerbaijani consumer market grew by 2%

Population spent half of retail spending on food products

Baku. 15 September. REPORT.AZ/ In January-August, 2016, Azerbaijani consumers have purchased products of 18 463.7 mln AZN or more by 2.2%  compared to the same period in 2015.

Report informs citing the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the information, sales value for food products, beverages and tobacco products has increased by 3.2% at real terms, while 0.8% for non-food products.

During the reporting period, 49.7% of consumer spending in retail trade networks accounts for food products, beverages and tobacco products, 17.5% for textile, clothing and footwear, 6.6% for electrical goods and furniture, 5.7% for automotive fuel, 1.5% for pharmaceutical and medical goods, 0.8% for computers, telecommunications equipment and printing products, 18.2% for other non-food products.
