International Mugham Center hosts event on 31st anniversary of Khojaly Genocide

The International Mugham Center hosted an event dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide.

According to Report, the event was attended by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov and representatives of diplomatic missions.

During the event, the minister and the guests got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the Khojaly genocide.

Bayramov informed the participants about the Khojaly genocide.

He recalled that as a result of the genocide committed by the Armenians, 613 people were killed, including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly people. A total of 1,275 civilians were taken hostage, some 150 people are still missing. 475 people became disabled, 8 families were completely exterminated. 25 children lost both parents, 130 children lost one of them.

The minister noted that international organizations have not yet given a legal assessment of the tragedy and have not taken any steps to hold the perpetrators to account.

The event participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide.

At the end of the event, the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater presented the play "Xocalı bu olub."
