Azerbaijan announces number of triplets and quadruplets born in January 2024

In January 2024, 278 twins and 12 triplets were born in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

According to the Committee, 8,389 newborns across the country were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice in the reporting period, and compared to the same period in 2023, this indicator fell from 11.5 to 9.7 per 1,000 people.

Boys accounted for 52.1% and girls for 47.9% of the newborns.
