Azerbaijan among 10 countries for biggest number of operating companies in Kazakhstan

The number of Azerbaijani enterprises operating in Kazakhstan by April 2024 increased by 19% compared to the same period last year, Report informs referring to the National Bureau of Statistics.

As of April 1, 2024, the number of Azerbaijani companies registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 1,434 (an increase of 18.3%).

At the same time, the largest number of these companies are registered in Astana (372) and Almaty (467).

According to statistical data, the number of companies from Azerbaijan fully operating in the country by April 1, 2024 amounted to 1,152 (an increase of 19%), including 1,146 small, four medium and two large companies.

The biggest number of Azerbaijani companies in Kazakhstan operate in the fields of wholesale and retail trade, repair of cars and motorcycles (489), construction (185), various services (225), manufacturing industry (51), transport and warehousing (43), professional, scientific and technical activities (35), real estate operations (35), administrative and support services (29), healthcare and social services (24), information and communications (10).

In addition to Azerbaijan, the top ten countries by the largest number of registered companies in Kazakhstan by April 1 included: Russia, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Germany, South Korea and Belarus.

In general, as of April 1, 2024, the total number of registered foreign enterprises in Kazakhstan reached 57,052 (an increase of 13%), of which 44,568 are operating (an increase of 12.3%). At the same time, the biggest number of companies registered and operating in Kazakhstan are from the Russian Federation – 23,300 and 19,700, respectively.
