McKinsey: Role of telecommunications companies in atmospheric emissions is huge

The main share of emissions into the atmosphere falls on telecommunications companies, Alima Zimanova, head of McKinsey & Company's telecommunications practice in Central, said on the second day of the GSMA Mobile 360 Eurasia 2024 international conference held in Baku, Report informs.

She said that operator groups have committed to reducing emissions: "Most of them have set 2030 as a target. Using active infrastructure allows more energy savings. We should think not only about ourselves but also about future generations and use green energy."
