Lionel Messi broke the personal record of goals for the Argentine national team in one calendar year in the World Cup 2022.
The forward, who has scored five times in the current World Cup, has increased the goal tally in the national team to 16 in 2022.
Previously, Messi's most productive period in the Argentina national team was in 2012. The veteran player scored 12 goals at that time.
