Robert Prosinečki: North Ireland match will be decisive in terms of our chances

Baku. 22 April. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan national football squad on May 15 starts preparations for 2018 World Cup qualification group match against North Ireland. 

Report informs, Azerbaijani national team manager Robert Prosinečki told reporters.

Croatian specialist said that on May 20 they will travel to Austria for training camp: “We are looking for two rivals to play friendly games. We want to play with the team whose playing style is similar to that of North Ireland. We carry out talks. We will name them as soon as everything is clarified. I believe that we will see an interesting game. We will return to Baku on June 3”.

According to Prosinečki, Northern Ireland match is crucial for Azerbaijan: “We are fully focused on North Ireland game. This match will be decisive in terms of our chances for qualification to next round. That’s why we have to prepare for the game seriously”.

The manager also noted that he will watch games of Azerbaijan national U-23 squad in the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.

Notably, Azerbaijan-North Ireland match will take place at Bakcell Arena, June 10.
