Michael O'Neill: We've been training at equivalent of kick-off time in Baku

Baku. 8 June. REPORT.AZ/ "The last two days have been particularly hot so we have been training in that type of heat since Monday. In the evenings it's been slightly cooler which is more realistic - we've been training at the equivalent of kick-off time in Baku. It has still been warm though it's not sunny, so the players have had good preparation in relation to getting acclimatised. Hopefully it's not a huge factor on the night".

Report informs citing Sportinglife, Michael O'Neill, manager of the Northern Ireland team, to play away match with Azerbaijan on June 10, said.

M.O'Neill added that 37-year-old West Brom defender Gareth McAuley, who was absent for the New Zealand friendly last Friday due to an injury, will be called upon. "Gareth is fine", O'Neill added.

Notably, the Northern Ireland national team visited Turkey on June 3 to hold 4-day training camp. The team will travel to Baku after the training camp.

The match at Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium starts at 20:00 local time.
