German squad for games with Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan unveiled - LIST

Baku. 29 September. REPORT.AZ/ German national team squad for matches against Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan for the 2018 World Cup Qualifying Group matches was announced. 

Report informs referring to the official website of the German Football Association, the head coach Joachim Löw has invited 23 players to the upcoming matches.

18 of them participated in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.After a long break, Jerome Boateng and Leroy Sane also returned.Instead, Manuel Neuer, Jonas Hector and Mario Gomez will not play due to the injury.Mesut Özil who suffers from pain in the right knee, and Sami Khedira muscle pain in right knee will not be able to play.

The coach said he is regretful due to lack of players.He expressed confidence that Özil and Khedira would be ready for the world championship.

German national team squad:

Goalkeepers: Kevin Trapp (PSG, France), Bernd Leno (Bayer), Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona, Barcelona)

Defenders: Mats Hummels, Joshua Kimmich, Jerome Boateng, Niklas Süle (all Bayern Munich), Matthias Ginte (“Borussia”, Mönchengladbach), Shkodran Mustafi (“Arsenal”, England), Marvin Plattenhardt (“Herta”), Antonio Rudiker ("Chelsea", England)

The game with Northern Ireland will be held at Windsor Park in Belfast on October 5 while meeting with Azerbaijan to be held on October 8 in Kaiserslautern.
