UNWTO: Visas will be canceled in whole world after 10 years

World Tourism Organization UNWTO expects that in ten years, visas will be canceled in all countries of the world.

Report informs citing the RIA Novosti, Secretary-General of the UNWTO Zurab Pololikashvili said at the XIII session of the organization’s General Assembly.

"About ten years ago, 77% of the world's population required visas, now a little more than 50%. Anyway, this is a lot. We hope that in ten years there will be no visas at all. I don’t want our children to know what visas are. We want tourism to be accessible to everyone, "  Pololikashvili said.

The Secretary General noted that so far "special security issues" remain in a number of countries, but the UNWTO, however, advocates the abolition of the visa regime.

"Our main recommendation is to remove such barriers, make visas unnecessary, and make tourism convenient for everyone," he added.
