Tourist flow to Azerbaijan rises by 7%

In July 2019, 365,000 foreigners traveled to Azerbaijan, up 10.6% from the previous year, Report informs citing the State Tourism Agency.

According to the Agency, 35% or 11,000 of visitors traveled from Russia, up 10% from a year earlier.

The most increase was recorded in the number of tourists from Georgia – 61,000 visitors, 12,000 tourists or 26% more than 2018.

The number of travelers from Saudi Arabia increased by 25% to 29,000 – a record level.

In January-July 2019, Azerbaijan was visited by 1.8 million foreigners, up 122,000 or 7.4% from 2018.

The most increase (76,000 tourists or 23%) was observed in the number of tourists from Georgia.

Travelers from Central and South Asia increased by 39% and 44% respectively. Number of Russian and Turkish visitors grew by 4%.
