Some European countries to offer tourists to take coronavirus test

Vienna Airport has started offering to passengers the possibility to undergo molecular-biological COVID-19 testing (PCR test) directly on-site at the airport starting May 4, 2020, Report informs, citing Schengen Visa.

Testing at the airport sites has been made possible in cooperation of the airport with the company Confidence DNA Analysen GmbH.

According to a notice published on the official website of the Vienna airport, test findings will be available within about three hours, and passengers who result negative upon testing dos not have to stay in self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Austria.

Currently, the government regulations in force require persons travelling to Austria to either present a medical certificate which confirms negative COVID-19 test results not older than four days, or else they are required to begin a two weeks quarantine.

“Arriving passengers without a valid medical certificate can get tested at the airport. If the test findings are negative, the passenger does not have to stay in self-quarantine for 14 days after arriving in Austria. In this way, quarantine periods which have already been commenced can also be prematurely terminated,” the notice of the airport explains.

The airport is charging 190 euros per test.

The medical certificate from the COVID-19 test carried at the airport can be used by passengers departing from Vienna airports, to prove that they are not infected with the pandemic.

Andorra is planning to test all tourists. The country wants to invite to take tests voluntarily and freely. If tourists are healthy and have a G antibody against COVID-19, they will be permitted to cross the border. The tourists testing positive for coronavirus will have to stay in quarantine or go back to their country. If a person is infected with the virus after entering the country, they will be treated in Andorra.
