Baku. 1 August. REPORT.AZ/ The number of tourists visiting Greece continues to grow, despite recent forest fires around Athens.
Report informs citing the AMNA news agency, this is stated in the data of the Ministry of Tourism of the country.
Greek tourism was not affected by the recent tragic fires near the resort towns of Kineta and Mati, as the flow of travelers to both the Athens International Airport and the airport of Heraklion on the island of Crete, as well as to 14 Greek regional airports, remains as powerful as previously expected. There were no delays, no cancellations of flights to Greece from abroad and back, "the Ministry of Tourism noted.
Notably, fires arose last week in the suburbs of Athens and turned into a real catastrophe for the almost completely burnt city of Mati, 30 km east of the capital, where more than 90 people were killed.
