In January-February 2019, the number of tourists from Iran travelling to Azerbaijan declined by 33%, Report informs citing spokesman of the State Tourism Agency Kenan Guluzade.
"It has to do with anti-Iranian sanctions. For instance, the number of Iranian tourists travelling to other countries dropped by 53% last year," he said.
Moreover, he added that the number of tourists travelled to Azerbaijan during first two months of 2019 rose by 3%.
Guluzade also said that number of tourists from Arab countries also fell by 7%: "Direct flights from those countries have decreased. Generally, the Middle East region is considered as a bit unstable market."
