The number of Azerbaijanis visiting Iran unveiled

Baku. 18 August. REPORT.AZ/ In the first quarter of 2017, the number of tourists visiting Iran has made 360, 200 people.

Report informs citing the Iranian media, during this period, tourists mainly from Iraq (246, 700), Azerbaijan (227, 500), Afghanistan (156, 200) and Turkey (133, 392) visited Iran.

In the same period, 1, 98 mln. Iranians visited foreign countries.

Notably, Iran predicts that this year (it will end in March 2018), 6,5 mln. tourists will come to the country. Along with it, Iran pays great attention to the development of internal tourism and is planning to make the figures reach 120 mln. in this direction by the year end. The country has set the goal to attract 20 mln. tourists by 2025.

Last year, 5,5 mln. people visited Iran, and the country’s economy gained $ 8 bln.
