New park to be built in Icheri Sheher

"We have already started restoration works on the walls of Gosha Gala. Restoration and renovation works will last for some, since the scope of process is broad," Head of the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve Icherisheher Riad Gasimov told Report.

According to him, a new park is being built in the territory of Icheri Sheher: "Restoration works are being carried out at Baku Khans’ Palace. Works will be completed by the end of the year and a new museum exposition will be established. A huge park is being built in the area between Baku Khans’ Palace and the underground hammam, which was found 3 years ago. This recreation area is established for all residents and guests of Baku. Hopefully, at the end of this year, this area will be put at the disposal of people. "

Notably, restoration works on the walls of Gosha Gala began in May 2019. The works are carried out by the well-known Austrian company Atelier Erich Pummer GmbH. Previously, the complete reconstruction of the fortress walls was carried out in 1952-1957.
