New law "On Tourism" approved after first reading

Baku. 2 May. REPORT.AZ/ The new law "On Tourism" has been approved after first reading at today's plenary session of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).

Report informs, Chairman of Milli Majlis's Social Policy Committee Hadi Radjabli has introduced the draft law.

Chairman of the committee said that legal framework will be created to regulate the relationship between the tourism industry, unified state policy in tourism will be defined, branding will be established in the regions, protection of historical and cultural monuments in the region will strengthen, there will be opportunities to improve living standards of local residents.

Accoring to him, this law regulates state control in the field of tourism in Azerbaijan, public administration, tourism stocks, organization of tourism activities, security in the field of tourism, classification of financial resources, investment and stimulation of development of this sphere by other methods of to stimulate the development of investment in this area in connection with the relationships.

The project says, tourism infrastructure and its subjects start activity in the field of tourism after being included in active section of State Tourism Register.

Notably, the law will come into force from the date of publication and from that date the law on "Tourism" dated June 4, 1999 will be repealed.
