From which countries did tourists come to Azerbaijan last year?

The number of foreign citizens who visited Azerbaijan in January 2020 made up 226,000,  an increase of 35,000 people or 18.1% from the previous year, Report says, citing the State Tourism Agency.

According to the information, most of the tourists came from Russia and Georgia. The number of Russian tourists increased by 12,000 people or 20.5% to 68,000 people, and Georgian tourists by 8,000 people or 14.6% to 64,000 people.

The number of tourists from the Middle East and Turkey rose by 20.8% and 12.1% respectively to 24,000 people. Among the Middle East countries,  growth in the number of tourists from Saudi Arabia was 5,000 people and from Kuwait 1,700 people.

The number of tourists from India increased by 3,000 people or 26.5% to 13,000, from South and Central Asia respectively by 43% and 18.4% to 8,000 people.

The number of Pakistani tourists rose by 15.6% to 3,000 people.
