Azerbaijan to introduce digital nomad visa

Azerbaijan plans to establish a digital nomad visa, Report informs, citing the State Program for the Development of Tourism for 2026–2030 approved today by President Ilham Aliyev.

Additionally, the Program envisages improving agreement mechanisms between air passenger transport policy and tourism policy, as well as increasing the number of visa-free countries to stimulate inbound tourism from target markets. This includes applying a visa-free regime for citizens of 34 target countries holding ordinary passports.

The document also outlines improving the process for issuing multiple-entry electronic visas, expanding the list of countries eligible for electronic visas (including visas on arrival), and enhancing coordination mechanisms to maximize tourism's contribution to socio-economic development alongside adjacent economic sectors.

Furthermore, the Program targets the optimization of the registry system for tourism industry entities and the refinement of industry classification standards.
