Azerbaijan plans to develop Tourism Information System

Azerbaijan plans to create and develop a Tourism Information System, according to the State Program on the Development of Tourism for 2026–2030, approved today by President Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

The program also envisages preparing passenger transportation data for air and rail services, intercity buses, the metro and public urban transport in the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) format. The data will include information on stops, routes, trips and other information related to scheduled services.

The program also calls for identifying tourism attractions for which audio guides will be developed and digitizing guide texts for these sites in five foreign languages and converting them into audio format.

The audio guides are planned to be made available through QR codes and other digital tools.

The Azerbaijan.travel digital tourism platform is also planned to be improved and developed.
