Azerbaijan among top twenty countries with fastest growing tourism

Tourism grew 11.4% in Azerbaijan in 2019. With this indicator, the country took 18th place in the ranking released by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Top of the pack was Myanmar, which saw a 40.2 percent increase in visitors, followed by Puerto Rico (31.2 percent), Iran (27.9 percent), Uzbekistan (27.3%), Montenegro (21.4%), and Egypt (21.1%).

According to UNWTO, overseas travel hit 1.5 billion in 2019, up four percent from 2018.
