Almost 20,000 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Turkiye's Izmir in Jan.-July

From January through July 2022, the Turkish city of Izmir was visited by 19,789 tourists from Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Izmir Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.

A total of 1.15 million people visited Izmir during the reporting period. Most of all, during this time, there were tourists from Germany (292,627). Germans are followed by tourists from the UK (81,678), the Netherlands (56,697), France (37,269) and Iran (33,704).

In the first seven months of 2022, trips to Izmir by air increased by 23.29%, while the trips by sea soared by 3.48 times.
