Minister of culture attends international conference of culture ministers kicks off in Milan

Baku. 3 August. REPORT.AZ/ An international conference of the ministers of culture has started in Italy as part of "Milan Expo 2015" exhibition.

Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Abulfaz Garayev is attending the event.

The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Italian Premier Matteo Renzi, Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, Italian Minister of Heritage, Cultural Activity and Tourism Dario Franceschini, as well as ministers and delegations from more than 70 countries.

In his remarks, Dario Franceschini highlighted the importance of the conference.

UNESCO Director General Bokova hailed the importance of holding such events in terms of maintaining global peace.

Addressing the event, Abulfaz Garayev underlined the role of culture in brining countries and people close to each other.

Garayev also spoke of Azerbaijan's pavilion at "Milan Expo 2015" exhibition.

The Minister invited the event participants to the 7th Global Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations to be held in Baku on April 25-27, 2015.
