Report/ Elchin Murad

Baku. 7 December. REPORT.AZ/ "There can be no conflict in a country that enjoys equality," Ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova said.

Report informs that she spoke at the international conference "Ensuring Equity as the Basis for Peace and Sustainable Development" dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

She said that all citizens, regardless of their ethnic background and religious views, have equal rights: "Stability has been strengthened in our country during the short independence period. We are the first among the CIS countries for development of the country."

Elmira Suleymanova noted that the main objective of the Ombudsman's Office is to ensure the rights of every citizen, avoid a discriminative approach, provide legal highness, commitment to the state and so on. "Ombudsman's Institution operates in all regions of the country. If we look at the countries which position themselves as the craddle of democracy, their attitude towards national minorities and refugees, is before eyeone's eyes. However every human should be treated as a human. "
