Number of people receiving targeted social assistance increased

Upon President Ilham Aliyev’s task, works on the extension of coverage of targeted state social assistance, simplification of its assignment, and enhancement of availability for low-income families are underway, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population told Report.

It was noted that as a result of the works carried out, the number of families receiving targeted social assistance increased by 13.2% or 9,100 families to 78,130.

The amount of targeted social assistance for each family reached AZN 222.

In accordance with the Action Plan signed by the Cabinet of Ministers on fulfillment of the president’s order dated March 19, 2020, the low-income families, to which the period of assignment of the targeted social assistance expired, will also be able to receive this assistance till May 1 after the date when the special quarantine regime ends.
