The decree on additional measures to protect the social welfare of the population signed by President Ilham Aliyev today will protect people from vulnerable groups.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, that the decree aims to mitigate the negative effect of processes in the international markets on domestic prices, especially for vulnerable groups, and strengthen the social protection of the population.
In general, over the past three years, the country adopted nearly 900 decrees, orders, and laws to increase the social welfare of citizens, while the number of recipients of social benefits has grown by 160,000 people to over 2.4 million.
"The document paves the way to the shift to the next stage of reforms, ensuring the sustainable social development in our country, the considerable growth in social payments and will generally promote the further improvement of the welfare of up to 1,800,000 of our citizens," the ministry said in a statement.
