Azerbaijan unveils population statistics

Azerbaijan saw an increase of 85,651 people (0.9%) in its population last year.
As of January 1, 2020, the population reached 10,067,108.
Report says, citing the State Statistical Committee, that urban population constituted 52.8% and rural population 47.2%. Men made up 49.9% and women 50.1% of people.
As of early this year, 4.6% of the population resided in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 22% in Baku, 20.3% in Aran, 12.9% Ganja-Gazakh, 9.4% Lankaran, 30.8% in other economic zones.
The average density in the country makes 116 people per square kilometer. In some places, the indicators exceeded the average, with 1,072 in Baku, 156 in Lankaran, 155 in Absheron.
