Iran's anti-Azerbaijani actions will return to it like a boomerang, Mubariz Gurbanli, the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, told journalists, Report informs.

The chairman noted that Iran is trying to create a '5th column' in Azerbaijan:

"Iran itself can and will suffer serious damage from this."

"Both the terrorist act against our embassy and the assassination attempt against MP Fazil Mustafa, as well as the groups detected by the Azerbaijani law enforcement and special services and the results of the preliminary investigation show that they have tried to disrupt social and political stability in Azerbaijan by attracting people from various fields, and part of it is in the name of religion," Gurbanli added.
