Council of Europe to eye possibility of holding int'l conference in Baku

The Council of Europe will consider the possibility of organizing an international conference in Baku, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Europe Bjorn Berg told a meeting with Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade.

Sheikh-ul-Islam attached great importance to the Strasbourg Conference of the Council of Europe and suggested that the next conference be held in Azerbaijan, a country of tolerance and multicultural values, as a continuation of this process. Council of Europe spokesman Bjorn Berg welcomed the proposal and said it would be considered in the process of evaluating its institutions for future conferences.
