Zelenskyy names condition for resumption of negotiations with Russia

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the first step to resume talks with Russia is the withdrawal of Russian troops to their pre-February 24 positions. He also noted that the killings of people at Azovstal plant would make any negotiations with Russia impossible, Report informs referring to RBC-Ukraine.

“In order for us to start talking normally, we need to restore the situation that was before the full-scale invasion - before February 24. They need to withdraw to those temporary contact lines or dividing lines,” Zelenskyy said.

He noted that although Russia is destroying ‘all our bridges,’ he believes that ‘not all bridges have been destroyed.’

“I was elected by the people of Ukraine as the president of Ukraine, and not as the president of a mini-Ukraine,” the president stressed.
