Clashes have intensified in villages of Ukraine's Donetsk region close to separatist-led areas. Heavy clashes have been underway since yesterday with separatists trying to break into villages with the support of the Russian Armed Forces. In particular, Limanskiy District and its villages surrounding the line of contact are under intense mortar and artillery fire. The villages of Aleksandrovka, Yaskovka, Rubtsi, and Krimki, in particular, are under attack by separatists from the so-called separatist Donetsk people's republic.
A correspondent of Report’s Eastern European bureau visited the area and shot a report.
Viktor Sorenko, a resident of Aleksandrovka village, said that they are coming under intensive strikes. "The fire is starting again. We are tired of this fire, we don't want to fight anymore, we want a peaceful life. I am a Moldovan. There are no Russians in our village, they are mostly Ukrainians."
Another resident of the village, Lyubov Miyagota, said that they were fed up with the attacks by separatists and the Russian army.
"Our houses have been destroyed. This is my neighbor's house. We don't know what to do. Where to go? What is this? Who needs this war? We lived a peaceful life, we had nothing to do with anyone."
