If the Georgian leadership had not stood against all global powers, the country's independence could have been lost for a long time, or perhaps forever, the Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Sozar Subari, said while commenting on Senator Marco Rubio's speech in the US Senate, Report informs.
According to Subari, if the Georgian government had not stood against global powers, the country could have been drawn into war:
"As a result of the strong policy of the People's Power Party, the government, and Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgia has managed to preserve its peace and statehood. If there hadn't been a firm position of the Georgian government and Bidzina Ivanishvili, we wouldn't exist as a state today. Most likely, we would have bid farewell to the hope of restoring our independence. I don't even want to mention how many people would have perished."
