The incumbent head of state of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, won the presidential elections held on July 9 with 87.05% of votes, Chair of Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizamkhojayev said, Report informs.

Mirziyoyev was born in 1957. On December 11, 2003, he was appointed as the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan. He was first elected President of Uzbekistan on December 14, 2016.

He won again the elections in October 2021.
