US Assistant Secretary: US will always support Georgia

"The United States will always support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia within internationally recognized borders," Philip Reeker, Acting Assistant Secretary of European and Eurasian Affairs said.

Georgian bureau of Report informs that he spoke during the international conference "What now?" held in Tbilisi.

He said the US attaches great importance to Georgia's Western values: "The United States supports Georgia's integration into the European Union and its economic space."

Reeker expressed hope that the 2020 parliamentary elections to be held under a proportional system in Georgia will contribute to the further strengthening of democracy in the country.

The State Department representative thanked Georgia for its support of the US peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
