The US Department of Transportation plans to review and, if necessary, implement new measures to improve the flight regulation system following an aviation accident involving a passenger aircraft and a military helicopter in Washington, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told journalists during a briefing at Ronald Reagan Airport, which was broadcast by Fox 5, Report informs.
"Of course, we will analyze what happened today. After the Federal Aviation Administration conducts its investigation, we will take appropriate measures if necessary to improve the flight routes system and flight authorization procedures," he said.
Duffy said he discussed the crash situation with US President Donald Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other officials.
The department head also promised to provide necessary support to specialists at the crash site.
