A US Corner has been set up in the public library in the center of the Marneuli district of Georgia, where Azerbaijanis live compactly.

Report's Georgian bureau informs that the opening ceremony was attended by Kvemo Kartli Governor Shota Rekhviashvili, Acting Mayor of Marneuli Zaur Tabatadze, MP Zaur Dargali, US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, and other official guests.

After the official part of the event, trees were planted in the garden in front of the library building as a symbol of friendship.

The main activity of the corner will be to promote understanding and cooperation between the peoples of Georgia and the United States. Visitors will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of English, learn about educational programs at US universities, and participate in community programs in English and Georgian.

The center will also provide an opportunity to learn about American society and democratic values, use modern technology, read books and videos, and implement ideas and projects.

The US Corner will be accessible to people of any age.
