United States adopts act of support for Georgia

The House of Representatives of the US Congress approved an act of support for Georgia, the US Department of State said, Report's Georgian bureau informs, citing the US Department of State.

The document provides for establishing a strong strategic partnership between the two countries at the legislative level.

It states that the United States strongly supports the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, and the right of its citizens to determine their future, foreign, and security policy independently.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said that the act's adoption confirms the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the US and Georgia. He thanked the House of Representatives for supporting Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, democracy, and NATO integration.
