Ukrainian general: Russia's second attack on Kyiv expected

After the redeployment of the Russian troops to the east of Ukraine and the attempt to take control of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, a second offensive against Kyiv should be expected.

Report informs citing UNIAN that Deputy Chief of Staff of the Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Gruzevich said.

"The situation remains tense. The enemy has changed its direction, and in the near future, it will try to take control of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, after which we should expect a second attack on the capital," Gruzevich said.

According to him, measures are now being taken to increase the outer circle of defense of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, measures are being taken to build up fortification equipment and train personnel.
