According to the country's Health Ministry, Ukraine reported its highest daily rise – 921 cases in the past 24 hours.

The country's death toll increased by 19 to 985.

So far, 34,984 people have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, and 16,033 others survived the infection in the Eastern European country.

There are 17,966 active COVID-19 patients in Ukraine.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China's Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 8,585,000 globally, resulting in more than 4,534,000 recoveries and over 456,000 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
