The Turkish government has blocked access to the popular social media platform Instagram across the country. The decision, made by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority, came into effect on the morning of Friday, August 2, 2024.
The reasons behind the sudden ban and its intended duration remain undisclosed on the authority's official website.
Local media outlets have confirmed the blockage, reporting that attempts to access Instagram from within Türkiye's borders have been unsuccessful since the early hours of the day.
Users are now resorting to alternative means, such as VPN services, to bypass the restrictions and regain access to the beloved platform.
