Turkish Armed Forces plan to conduct major military operation in northern Iraq

The Turkish Armed Forces are expected to conduct a large-scale ground military operation in northern Iraq against PKK militants, Repor informs via Turkish media.
The central administrations of Iraq, as well as Erbil, have been informed that the anti-terrorism operation Pence-Kilit would be carried out. As a result of this operation, the Turkish side expects to “close” all 378 km of the border with Iraq for terrorists.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously stated that Ankara expects to resolve the issue of border security with Iraq in the summer, and also seeks to create a security corridor 30-40 km deep along the Syrian border.
